What We Do

Universidade Livre do Meio Ambiente (Unilivre) is a vehicle for the diffusion of environmental knowledge. City inhabitants are aware of environmental issues, but they feel unprepared and without initiative to act on their own. Our mission is to enlarge the field of action of citizens, aiming to consolidate in them, mainly if those who form opinions, a correct environmental conscience and education, as a way to improve the global quality of life. With this, Unilivre focus its area of acting in five different lines of work:

• To give courses for the population in general, and to professionals that act in the area attached to the environment.

• Creation of an environmental data base and interchange with entities located all over the country and also international ones that are related to the subject.

• Investigations related to the environment, offer of interchange of information and technical assistance with interested cities.

• Elaboration of specific projects for public and private institutions through agreements.

• Development and implementation of training events and projects catered for the Urban Environmental Administration and Sustainable Development.
